There’s more to a merchandising career with Sainsbury’s – much, much more. For a start, you’ll be guaranteed genuine accountability and responsibility for your own area within our complex business. You’ll be dealing with substantial budgets and turnovers, and the size of our non-food project will give you the scope to create a whole new way of merchandising. All of which will mean you’ll be facing different challenges and constantly developing your skills.
It will be your job to drive great products onto our shelves in double-quick time. You’ll be pulling together and executing merchandising budgets and plans, dealing with open & when to buy and WSSIs, and replenishing our sales floors with own label and branded products. This will entail working with suppliers in the UK and overseas to ensure stock is delivered on time and in the right quantities, which may involve international travel. You’ll be an integral part of a wider team, working in collaboration with buying, technology, design and supply chain professionals.
These roles will suit ambitious merchandisers or planners with retail, online or catalogue experience gained in a quality environment. If you fit the bill, we’re waiting to hear from you.

Merchandisers/ Allocators/ Distributors
The responsibility of a Merchandiser is to support the merchandise planner, to manage the flow of goods from the UK supply base into the warehouses and stores and to manage the replenishment of all goods into stores to meet sales, stock, markdown and availability targets.
You will have experience of forecasting and replenishment within your current role and have an understanding of planning tools and the principles of open and when to buy. As well as demonstrated experience within Non-food retailing of working with suppliers on forecasts and stock, and also experience of replenishment systems that may be industry developed or the retailers own.
You may also have limited experience of merchandise planning and some experience of working in a traditional Buying and Merchandising structure
Please note that this is a Head Office role, and not an In-Store role
